About Tumbling Dice
We build next-generation FPGA acceleration designed to make AI faster, leaner and ready for real-world deployment.
Tumbling Dice is a British tech company with over 20 years of operational history. We develop advanced FPGA technology that delivers faster, more efficient AI performance. Our work focuses on practical, scalable hardware innovation that reduces energy use and increases throughput across a wide range of applications.
With patent-pending technology, long-term engineering experience, and a clear path to commercial integration, we are building the foundation for the next generation of AI performance.
About the Founder
Mark O’Neill is the Technical Director of Tumbling Dice and the architect behind our FPGA acceleration technology. He holds a PhD from University College London and has a strong publication record, including papers in Science and Proceedings of the Royal Society.
With decades of experience in systems engineering, hardware optimisation and acceleration, and UNIX-based compute environments, Mark brings a deep understanding of how real-world workloads behave and how to design hardware that meets them. His work spans high-performance computing, embedded systems, and hardware-specific optimisation, with a focus on practical, efficient solutions that scale.
Mark leads the technical direction of Tumbling Dice, shaping the architecture, performance strategy, and long-term roadmap of our platform. His approach combines rigorous engineering with a clear focus on deployment-ready design, ensuring that our technology is not just innovative, but usable by organisations operating at global scale.
About the Technology
Our core architecture is patent-pending and represents a new approach to efficient AI acceleration. Early development was funded and supported by the British Government to help de-risk the technology and accelerate its path to deployment.
The platform is designed for scalability, with a clear roadmap from FPGA to ASIC, enabling higher performance, lower cost, and broad commercial applicability.
