NAME
HDID - get serial number of hard disk device
SYNOPSIS
hdid

DESCRIPTION
hdid(1)
uses the appropriate
ioctl(2)
to find the serial number of the specified hard disk device. Optionally this
serial number may be (enigma) encrypted. This utility is intended to be used
as a component of the P3M software security subsystem. The hard disk device
defaults to
/dev/hda1
OPTIONS
-usage | -help
display help and copyright information for the
hdid(1)
filter.
-ecrypt
tells
hdid(1)
to (enigma) encrypt disk serial number.
