NAME

progress - display state of an interactive DAISY classification.

SYNOPSIS

progress [-usage | -help] state file [-voter] [-pob] >& <log file>

DESCRIPTION

progress(1) monitors the state of an interactive DAISY classification and reports its status. Possible states are:
IPM which means ipm(1) pre-processor is running.
FLORET which means floret(1) classifier is running.
VHTML which means vhtml(1) virtual HTML generator is running.
Idle which means the system is awaiting input.

OPTIONS

-usage | -help display help and copyright information for the filter.

state file is the name of the state file from which progress(1) reads the state of the DAISY computation. Usually this file (and the progress(1) application itself) are automatically started by the daisy(1) driver program.

-voter tells progress(1) that is monitoring a invocation of DAISY supporting multiple pattern voting recognition. In this case progress(1) keeps a tally of the votes cast.

-pob tells progress(1) to prefix all status information with escape sequence (BEL). This will cause the terminal window running progress(1) to pop to the top of the window hierarchy when progress(1) updates its status string.
